What’s your background?
Many times I've been told, "It wasn't you who chose art, art chose you." After much time spent observing myself what makes me happy and how, I think I agree. It's by divine providence that we can be co-creators and feel fulfilled, and that's exactly how I feel as an artist.

As a young girl and only daughter, my colored pencils accompanied me everywhere: on vacation or to my grandparents' and uncles houses, and during playtime with my cousins, but there were always moments that were just mine, between 3 elements, namely designing/drawing, commercializing by mentally creating dialogues in which contact with customers and negotiating it was enthralling and finally idealizing fashion coordinates for the dolls that soon after, and still very early on, also for me…These three, became the main lines, which always intersect and intertwine...
So, from a very early age, I felt a restlessness on an artistic level, for the creations that emerged in my mental plane, made me wish to obtain the maximum amount of training both in and out of the country, and so it was, often in condensed form, in various techniques of art and painting.

Throughout my life, I have also studied various fields, including Financial Markets, Positive Psychology, Neurocience and Integrative Medicine. As the Philosopher, Poet and Essayist Agostinho da Silva said something along these lines: "Each of us should go learn what we really want to know". I wholeheartedly agree, for me that all knowledge we can get, is never too much, for the world of knowledge produces a deeper foundation to build and make bloom a more meaningful and radiant art.

What does it mean to you to win the Collectors Art Prize?
It is a privilege to have my art recognized as investable or collectible artist by people who consider art a nourishment for their being. So, I express my gratitude to Contemporary Art Curators for the Collectors Art Prize, prize which I dedicate intrinsically to all those who already own or desire to acquire my art.

What do you think is the role of art in the world today?
Art can be a form of personal and collective expression, a way to communicate, educate, inspire, and lead to reflection. Therefore, it can subtly influence us in all ways and make an excellent contribution to a fairer and more inclusive society, in which our 'multiplicity' as conscious living beings manifests the virtues provided by our wonderful creator.

What would it be if you could change one thing about the art world?
Art is an essential element in people's lives, representing an intrinsic part of culture. That's why art should reach each person and touch every heart, to move as many people as possible and allow them to experience intangible emotions that become a part of our individual and collective heritage.
Heritage that only exists when it is known, embraced, and made our own, like a vitamin on our lives. From my point of view, this is the way we can fully benefit from its enriching influence on our lives.

What are your most significant professional achievements?
When in my mind an idea bubbles that is difficult to implement, and the wall' for which it was mentally projected, communicates that it is this idea that must be executed and after a rigorous plan to materialize it, it comes to fruition...the resulting sense of accomplishment is unparalleled. Then, if the emotions of those who acquire my art, emerge in a hug of mutual gratitude, then that's where the true sense of internal fulfillment happens.
Afterwards, when my work are bestowed with recognition from those who, in their full knowledge and sensitivity feel that the work and its thinker/performer deserve to be artistically 'pampered,' ' it is as if the seal of merit is placed - the sense of external fulfillment, publicly witnessed.
Fortunately, this seal of acknowledgement has been bestowed over 75 times, and I am grateful for each and every recognition, that manifest in me a sense of freedom with responsibility, serenity with a high motivational spectrum!
"With these honors, blessed are we

Over seventy-five times are so many,

That the gratitude felt, blows within me,

Freedom, emotion and responsibility,

Serenity and life on my spirit free!” – by Sonny* - Sónia Domingues

What do you wish to tell viewers about your work that might not come out explicitly? What do you hope to inspire with your artwork?
Each work I create tells a story, often based on real-life events that reflect the current times or centuries of heritage, culture, and national or international relevance. These stories contain curiosities and secrets that are reflected in art in a poetic and philosophical way. Although I am not a historian, my aim is to invite reflection and make messages audible provide movement to the stillness of thought to vivify the good that sometimes lies almost dormant in the mind and being, to extol all the virtues that exist and with that artistically perpetuate all the stories that I can tell...!

What advice would you give to the upcoming generation of artists?
Always create your artistic DNA, something that is uniquely yours, with a distinctive and identifiable style, whether it be through your color palette, simplicity or technical complexity. So that when people have the opportunity to appreciate your creations, they will say "So clever. So enchanting. Very well done" and with emotion' want your art for themselves, their home, or their art collection. Another important aspect of being an art creator is to dress yourself with strength and courage, because you will need good doses of both. If your art is special, it will eventually flourish at the appropriate divine time.

In what direction would you like to see your career go in the next five years?
I see in my dreams a possible ideal formula, what and how I would really like to achieve... so I must continue to do my best. In five years, I promise, if I achieve this accomplishment, I will share it with all of you!
