Franco Brighenti
Biography
Brighenti’s artistic research resumes after years of inactivity, using cardboard and watercolours as the primary means of expression. Through an agile and immediate visual language, watercolour becomes a means of storytelling, memory, and profound observation of reality.
The transparencies and washes of watercolour, sometimes delicate and at other times intense, are used to construct richly detailed images in which events and situations acquire a particular narrative force.
Particularly interesting is the ability to combine precision and immediacy without sacrificing the spontaneity of the painterly gesture. Cardboard thus becomes a surface upon which historical events take shape through colour, allowing documentation and personal interpretation to coexist.
What emerges is an artistic exploration that looks to history without remaining confined by it, using painting as a means of reflecting on the present. Brighenti thus develops an original visual language in which art, memory, and reality come together, creating works capable of conveying not only what happened, but also the emotions that those events continue to evoke.
