Biography

MIYOKO is a contemporary artist whose practice explores the themes of “Existence” and “the Soul.” Working with an original artistic technique, she creates distinctive works that she shares with audiences around the world from Japan.

For MIYOKO, art is not something deliberately constructed or controlled by intention, but rather an expression of the vibrations of emotion. Her creative process emerges from an ongoing journey of spiritual exploration, translating inner experiences and the unseen dimensions of existence into visual form.

Since first presenting her work on social media in 2021, MIYOKO has received numerous awards and distinctions in Japan and internationally.

Her recent exhibitions and achievements include participation in Artexpo New York in 2025 and 2026, as well as Salon d’Automne 2025 in Paris, France. She was also selected for Le Salon 2026 and 2027, marking consecutive selections at this prestigious Parisian art exhibition.

Artist Statement

Contemporary artist MIYOKO transcends established concepts and boundaries, portraying flowers not merely as forms of nature, but as metaphysical beings imbued with a soul.

Behind these forms unfolds a dimension of time and space shaped by the interplay of light and shadow, as well as by dust, smoke, and other ephemeral particles that drift through the atmosphere. These elements embody the traces of time, memories accumulated throughout history, and the layers of experience that gradually shape our existence. Within the shifting interplay of light and darkness, invisible remnants of the past and emotions buried deep within the human spirit quietly emerge.

For MIYOKO, beauty is not defined by surface appearance or aesthetic perfection. Rather, it resides in the deeper layers of existence, where wounds and pain are etched through an ongoing process of struggle and hope. It is a beauty that embraces vulnerability and imperfection, yet continues to endure.

Through the image of the flower, MIYOKO explores the thresholds between the visible and the invisible, life and memory, wounds and regeneration. Her works seek to touch the depths of the soul and reveal the profound traces of time that accumulate within all forms of existence.
