Biography

Wendy Cohen is a Sydney-based contemporary artist who has earned BFA and MFA degrees. She actively exhibits her work at Art Expo New York, Art Spectrum Miami, Art Santa Fe, and the Chicago Art Fair.

She has also exhibited her work in shows in Sydney, Los Angeles, Cincinnati, Rome, Venice, Florence, and Madrid. Her work has been featured in international publications and recognized with honors that include the Global Masterpiece Award from Contemporary Art Curator Magazine and recognition among ArtTour International's Top 60 Masters.

Artist Statement

Wendy integrates shapes, lines, and colours, juxtaposed with collage elements, into cohesive compositions that transform into synchronized visual tapestries of contrasting hues.

She draws inspiration from natural and urban environments to communicate her oeuvre in a painterly, abstracted language that expresses not what is seen, but how she speaks in paint.

Working through an intuitive process of observation, exploration, and discovery, Wendy combines expressive brushwork, mark-making, layered forms, and collage elements to create richly textured compositions.

Colour plays a central role in her practice, generating rhythm, harmony, and a sense of movement that reflects her connection between visual art and music.
