Nancy Staub Laughlin, an accomplished artist based in New Jersey, introduces a groundbreaking concept of the assemblage. She masters the combining of pastel on paper and photographs. In her own words, Nancy immerses the viewer into her radiant and captivating world of color, light, dimension, and beauty, crafting compelling compositions that represent the culmination of a meticulously executed process that defines her unique artistic approach.
With a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Moore College of Art in Philadelphia, PA, Nancy has showcased her talent at prestigious galleries such as Carter Burden Gallery, Newhouse Gallery, and Noho Gallery in New York City. She has received recognition and honors in New Jersey, including a solo exhibit at the New Jersey State Museum, where her work earned a permanent place in the collection. Notably, Secretary of State Nina Mitchell Wells (under Corzine) bestowed her with the honor of a solo exhibit at the State House of New Jersey.
Nancy's exhibition "Sparkle" at the Carter Burden Gallery in New York, NY, garnered attention, with a review by Mary F. Holahan Ph.D. featured in Gallery and Studio Magazine. Nancy's artistic achievements include exhibits at the Noyes Museum, Johnson & Johnson World Headquarters Gallery, Bristol/Myers Squibb Gallery, Prudential Corporate Gallery all in NJ. Nancy was honorably selected to be featured at Six New Jersey Masters at Kean University, Burger Gallery. She also had a solo exhibition at the Nancy Dryfoos Gallery at Kean University which received rave reviews.
She is prominently featured in private and public collections, including the NAWA collection at the Jane Voorhees Zimmerli Museum, Rutgers University, New Brunswick, NJ. Nancy received the Miriam Shorr Memorial Award, Works on Paper, from Open Horizons through NAWA in 2018. She also honorably received the Homiens Art Prize Highly Commendable Award and the Circle Foundation Masterful Mind Award for The Blossoming Froth.
Vue Magazine highlighted Nancy in a five-page spread, and her drawing "The Luminosity of the Blizzard" was selected for the 34th National Drawing & Print Exhibition at Gormley Gallery, Notre Dame of Maryland University, Baltimore. Nancy's presence on YouTube, featured by the National Association of Women Artists in Art in Conversation With Farrin, showcased her artistic insights. A rave review from Project High Art, further acknowledged the compelling nature of her work.
