Aug 15 Pilbri Britta Neumärker · Winner Collectors Art Prize

Britta Neumärker, known as Pilbri, is a German painter and photographic artist who has been working in her own studio since 2005. Her artistic journey began with impressionist and expressionist influences, inspired by Monet, Macke, Kandinsky, and the Blue Rider group. Over the years, she developed a distinctive style that merges painting and photography into thematic series. Her guiding principle – “It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye” – Quotation of Saint Exupéry - has shaped her work for more than two decades.

Pilbri explores the unseen: emotional fragments, human vulnerability, and the tension between the real and virtual worlds. Through her layered techniques – in both paint and conceptual meaning – she reveals hidden beauty. Addressing serious themes such as war, illness, and climate change, her work is rooted in the belief that art and science together can make the world a better place.

The artworks concerning the collectors Art Prize are a mixture of paintings and digital photography together.

The digital photography are developed in 2025. they are a combination of a processed photograph and a real photograph. Some contain parts of the paintings, which are also presented here.

The digital photographs of 2025 are dealing with the question how long can our brain distinguish between real and virtual landscapes, if the digital world develops more and more?
