« My artistic voyage emphases on the complex and dynamic life. In this sense, the actual CONTEMPORARY and CLIMATIC ARCHITECTURES series puts all my senses and creativity on alert ». MALO

For more than 45 years, MALO artistic register depicts a unique vision of technological, environmental, and sociological phenomena affecting the contemporary world.

The artist of vocation describes herself as a life explorer where art transforms into an « enriching adventure ». Teenager, it was necessary for her to assemble humans and their environment in the same image. It is now, for the complete artist, a way to explore, comprehend, and express the universal human in its rapidly changing environment. Intrinsically linked to human activities and aspirations, politic, social, economy, and environment are explored.

During her long and active art career, MALO is developing an extensive and multidisciplinary portfolio recognizable by a vigorous creative style and approach where chronological series testify of a change of life or a meaningful encounter.

Contemporary Architectures
MALO had studios in New York, California, and Quebec where she is actually working. As a worldwide traveler and a ex-resident in the USA and Switzerland, her interest in migration movements is perceptible in her actual artworks. Observation in accordance to intuition, sensibility and experience are instigators for the CONTEMPORARY and CLIMATIC ARCHITECTURES series. Graphically expressed by lines as links in a non-restricted neither traditional compositions, she investigates the movements of evolution.

Overlaying lines and colors activate a dialogue between past, present, and future. Manmade realizations interacting with natural elements create new bridges and pathways to the unknown. Mental and physical energy are graphically transferred to put emphasis on the awareness of climatic emergency.

The active artist plays with contrasts in harmonious but complex compositions. In her artworks, mediums are actors to reveal the identity of each subject matter. Alternating between abstraction and realism, drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, writing, teaching arts, and computer science is for the multidisciplinary artist a way to refresh perspectives and points of view on different aspects of our world in transit. During this mentally and physically creative process, MALO makes the print of an alarm.

Art Sport Mission

In her ART SPORT Serie, MALO had given herself the social mission to introduce arts in sports and sports in arts; an accomplished mission. Her interest in sport’s representations comes from her sportive background. In this corpus of work, the artist explores multiple aspects of the human in performance: balance between body and mind, efforts, achievement, energy, childhood, community, humanity, philanthropy, consciousness, and security. The beauty of a physical performance evokes life survival and gives her « a surprising sense of balance ».

Through her "FERTILE OBJECTS", "IDENTITY", "HUMANITY", "FIGURANTS", "ART SPORT”, and "CONTEMPORARY-CLIMATIC ARCHITECTURES" Series, MALO has drawn a schematic map of Humanity. De facto, simplicity is not yet a prerogative for the artist as, for her,« simplicity is built on knowledge and knowledge is an ongoing process ».

"She explores and excavates the matter in the search of a significant aestheticism which wants to be a lucid witness of the prints left by humanity in the heart of the men. In her art, she seeks to plastically translate the hopes and contradictions of human nature through sets of forms and lines where the colour plays a crucial role." Galerie Contemporaine France 2012.

MALO began teaching art classes at the age of fifteen: drawing, painting, and sculpture. From 1974 to 1978, the young artist was selected to participate in four creativity art camps broadcast by the French Alliance Television. Based in France and Spain, those immersions in the world of creation were dedicated to introducing a new generation of artists to the philosophical, historical, and practical aspects of arts: Grand Masters, arts and culture, literature, cinema, and poetry have also been explored.

This formative period was followed by intensive studies in Arts, Communication, Cinema, Computer Science, and Literature at different universities and institutions: Quebec University in Montreal, Montreal University, California University in Los Angeles, Santa Monica College, Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, and Geneva University.

Since 2010, MALO has been acting as an invited guest performer for national and international sports events. The specialized artist has been commissioned by many organizations, accomplished athletes, and collectors to realize original paintings in acrylic and mixed media.

Enthroned Official Artist for « Fédération Québécoise des Sports Cyclistes FQSC » in 2016, MALO had achieved the social mission to introduce « Arts in Sports and Sports in Arts » when her ART SPORT series was launched publicly with a consortium of art and sport specialists along with politicians. Her ART SPORT series has been published on trophies, archival and commemorative prints, and sportswear collections.

Art specialist recognized colorist, she is regularly mandated as a jury in national and international contexts.

Enthroned Grand master’s in fine arts by « Académie Internationale des Beaux-arts du Québec AIBAQ » in 2019, her realizations have been seen in major media translated in many languages since 1972: television, newspapers, art&design magazines, and art books.

MALO has exhibited in national and international museums, art galleries, shows, symposiums, and major arts and sports events in Canada, the USA, and Europe.

MALO has received numerous honors, prizes, and grants throughout her career for her creations and innovative ideas. Her art is internationally included in collections.
