My pictures are colorful snapshots between dream and reality. Often mysterious and fairytale and want to find the way to the heart of the observer. As a typical feature of my pictures, a paradisiacal subject has established itself. Plants and animals have moved from the original decorative element in the foreground. Human and nature. Communication at all levels with the originality of creation.

My interest in ceramics was awaked during my early school years. I remember being very interested and excited about creating pieces with clay during the art classes. I grew up seeing my grandmother producing bronze sculptures in which she used clay as a mold. I believe these moments introduced me to the art world.

Katrin Alvarez

My images are reports from within. Most are created when reality meteorites impact my universe. But there's also a huge storage space where all the visions, stories, and daydreams or nightmares are stored – they just need to be made visible. Shadow fish flying past my eyes – sometimes I can catch them. I'm a junkie; my addiction is colors and shapes."
