Gabi Domenig

Gabi Domenig

I completed seminars in color theory, drawing, composition, and nude painting. Red chalk, charcoal, and pastels on paper and primed wood panels were the medium used in the 1990s. Since 2000, I have been painting on canvas and panels.

Participation in various projects and numerous national and international group exhibitions in galleries and at art fairs in Austria, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Slovenia, the Czech Republic, Belgium, Switzerland, England, the USA and Brazil. My paintings can be found in renowned national and international art books, art magazines, online galleries, and private collections at home and abroad.  I am grateful for numerous international awards.

My highlight was being a finalist in the 2017 Global Art Award with the painting *PARADISE MADONNA* (Top 20 in the painting category).

My style of painting has been able to develop unhindered over the past 25 years and, due to its representational nature and intense color palette, is classified as Neo-Expressionism. Humans and nature are my main themes. A particular focus of my work is the respectful depiction of women in all their emotional and visual facets. My paintings are colorful snapshots between dream and reality. Often mysterious and enchanting, they seek to find their way into the viewer's heart. A paradisiacal-like subject has become a typical feature of my paintings. Plants and animals have moved from their original decorative elements to the foreground. Humans and nature. Communication on all levels with the originality of creation.

From 1995 Seminars in coloring, drawing, composition and nude painting. Raddle, charcoal and pastel chalk on paper and primed wooden boards were the working materials in the nineties. First exhibition 1999. Since 2000 acrylic painting on canvas. Many individual exhibitions, numerous participations in projects, national and international group exhibitions in galleries and art fairs in Austria, Germany, France, Netherlands, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Slovenia, Czech Republik, Belgium, Switzerland, United Kingdom, USA and Brazil. I am thankful for many international awards.

Many International Awards. 2017 Finalist at the Global Art Award with the picture * PARADISE MADONNA *. (Top 20 in category painting).

My way of painting has developed unhindered over the past 25 years and is attributed to Neo-Expressionism due to  its intense Color palette and the figurative painting. Man and nature are my main topics. Especially the respectful representation of women in all their emotional and visual facets is the central theme of my work. My pictures are colorful snapshots between dream and reality. Often mysterious and fairytale and want to find the way to the heart of the observer. As a typical feature of my pictures, a paradisiacal subject has established itself. Plants and animals have moved from the original decorative element in the foreground. Human and nature. Communication at all levels with the originality of creation.
