The German painter Marion Schmidtke explores natural motifs above and below the water’s surface, using acrylic and oil paints on large-scale canvases. Inspired by nature, she fuses abstraction with natural elements. Through layering and the element of stillness, her paintings are characterized by vibrant colors, light, and depth. Through her participation in numerous international exhibitions and projects, from New York to London, she has gained worldwide recognition.

Born in Höxter, Marion Schmidtke explores natural motifs above and below the water’s surface, using acrylic and oil paints on large-scale canvases. Inspired by nature, she fuses abstraction with natural elements. Through layering and a sense of stillness, her works are marked by luminous colors, light, and depth.

Through her participation in numerous international exhibitions and projects, from New York to London, she has gained worldwide recognition.

Marion studied art and music at the University of Duisburg from 1983 to 1989. The artist taught at various schools for many years and also worked extensively as a painting instructor. In 2014, she moved with her husband to the island of Fehmarn, where she currently lives.
