Noémie L. Côté

Noémie L. Côté

Noémie L. Côté paints landscapes that pulse with light, colour, and joy. Her signature impressionist style, rich in texture and vibrant hues, transforms nature into an emotional experience.

Noémie L. Côté is an internationally acclaimed Canadian artist whose luminous, textured landscapes infuse nature’s beauty with vibrant energy. Working in richly textured oils, she transforms scenes into immersive experiences, her bold brushstrokes dispersing light into sculptural colour that uplifts and inspires.

Her artistic journey began in childhood during travels in Africa, where the vivid hues of the land and wildlife awakened her passion for painting. As a French-speaking child far from home, she absorbed the language of colour long before words, learning to see the world through tones, light, and form.

Under the mentorship of a celebrated Zimbabwean artist, she developed a deep appreciation for colour and composition. Returning to Canada, she refined her skills through a scholarship supported fine arts education at Canterbury High School and a successful career in graphic design before embracing her calling as a full time painter.

Côté’s work reflects her belief that art should be felt as much as it is seen, capturing not just the look of a place, but the emotional resonance it leaves behind. Her paintings invite viewers to step into landscapes alive with shifting light, vibrant palettes, and the joyful spirit of nature. Today, she works from her Ottawa studio, with her award winning pieces exhibited in galleries and collections across Canada.
