Sylvia Dr Kölbl
Biography
Sylvia Kölbl was born on 9 October 1949 in Vienna, Austria. She studied Veterinary Medicine in Vienna. She had no formal education in art, but painting has been her passion since childhood.
She has had six solo exhibitions and has participated in more than 120 group exhibitions in different countries since 2013. Her works belong to private and public collections in Austria, Slovakia, and Germany.
She is a multi-award-winning artist. She is a member of vetart-artforum, publicartists, and Galeriestudio 38. Since 2025, she has been a Featured Artist at Circle Foundation for the Arts.
Artist Statement
In my eyes, nature, with all its diversity and living inhabitants, is the greatest artwork of all. Therefore, by painting some special motifs from the richness around us, I try to show what we should respect and protect, and what we may lose through destruction.
