Dita Jacobovitz

Dita Jacobovitz

Dita jacobovitz paints landscapes. You could same one view, starting from observation even though the landscape has been familiar to here for almost four decades. This repeated investigation, as an act of meditation, instills peace with hope.

This process has changed over the years, today she does not seek descriptive accuracy, but rather openness to the sensory level. Here works take place within a figurative space, each work is born from its predecessor, like a continuous internal conversation, in which time accumulates, changes, The preoccupation with color itself even when it seems absent – fascinates here: It is what keeps here on the long and continuous pictorial journey, in which every movement carries within the traces of the moment and the depths of time.

I was born in Israel. My father was born in Belgium and my mother in Denmark. I went to the Artists House during my childhood. I am married and a mother of three. All These years we have been living in a small village in the north of Israel. I have a BA in computer science gives me another perspective on doing art.

Most of my landscape artworks are from my residential area and from north Italy. I use various techniques but mostly oil on canvas. The landscape I observe changes I keep in my memory and spell it out like an archive story. My art courses were in Civita Castellana, the JSS Art School in Italy. have attended master class in art school at Tlv for 2 years. During the last 3 years I have attended a course with 2 curators ongoing reflection on my artistic works. Different from what I have experienced so far.

My web site can show that it is indeed an ongoing process I have a printed catalog of selected artwork.
