Often, E Bee Bantug is moved to write verses after an intense moment of imagery creation; somehow, the involuntary response to her desire to also capture and express in words the excitement –downright, exhilaration– and gratitude she feels at every turn as she experiences a visual creation that unfolds (so unlike conventional 3D material-based photography) from within, then seemingly like magic, manifests and flows outward in front of her eyes as she looks through her camera lens.

She asks, quite rhetorically: Should humanity refocus its attention (energy) less on modern science and the mundane; open up to greater awareness and discussion about the profoundly richer true nature of reality?

E Bee Bantug's conceptual crossover lens-based abstract imagery vividly expresses unseen yet often powerfully felt vibrations in the aether, the inescapable frequencies surfacing from deep within consciousness, both as singular soul interacting with the universal collective, and All That is.

The images E Bee shares here are part of her series 'In the In-Between: More Than Meets the Eye', an ongoing unwitting intellectual-spiritual quest she started in 2013 that runs and weaves through her creative work to this day, the constant thread fluid in time space. She moves and flows into moments of creation without any definitive plan formulated. Yet, at each seemingly blank slate and state in time space energetically are myriad hopes, dreams, intentions of actualization for oneself and for All. Her creative quest is to allow visual expression of these intentions and consciousness through energetic connection with the ‘magical’ that always surrounds us. Each imagery pays tribute to this interplay; naturally, entirely unmanipulated, unPhotoshopped. E Bee invites the world to wonder at and embrace both the Seen and the Unseen in the in-between.

In our fast-paced lives, how often are we aware of it, she asks? Is its place only in art, metaphysics and spirituality? Or, is 'the magical' the rich real underpinning of today’s known and disclosed physics as narrowly mirrored in the mundane? While the debate continues as a trendy scientific perspective of ambivalence or outright negation, E Bee is driven and exhilarated to mindfully, intuitively co-create with natural Light and unseen frequencies/energies that suffuse the Aether. She seeks to prove more to myself than to anyone else that consciousness, observation, intentionality play a critical and powerful role in the creation of our reality. For E Bee, Art opens up inimitable fertile ground not only for its deeper integration into the creative process; more importantly, it lays out the matrix for the resulting equally inimitable unexpected vivid expressions that come into being. . . organically, visibly, easily accessible, for All.

Technically, to create her imagery, E Bee deliberately uses only her iPhone camera as one would a painter’s brush; consciously aiming not to capture preexisting objects, people, places; instead, to explore, tease out and create unrepeatable ephemeral original imagery that breaks through surface 3D physical reality. Aesthetically and conceptually, she casts out realism totally from her thought and creative process; intuitively allowing her inner vision to interact with natural light in time-space and explore a quantum moment. Racing after movements of light, she literally ‘paints’ expressionist –often abstract, surreal– imagery, unexpected vantage points and perspectives, merging/bridging the edges between painting and photography, both in character and impression. And, later, even more deliberately, she does not Photoshop or digitally manipulate nor add strokes nor filters to her images, post-creation. Each imagery is an ephemeral visual presence; a communion with the abundantly rich energetic multidimensional reality and vital essence rarely accessible, often hidden, vaguely perceptible, yet which at each moment infinitely surround our busy fast-paced lives.

Since 2013, using only her camera as one would a painter’s brush and natural light as color source, E Bee Bantug literally paints abstract conceptual images aiming to penetrate beyond surface realities; somehow unveiling cosmic energies at play in liminal time space.

Asian-American E Bee Bantug has worked as an advertising, marketing and graphics design professional in Asia, Europe, and the US; presently a co-founder & Managing Partner at an IT solutions firm; as well as a visual artist, professionally since 2013. Totally self-taught, E Bee considers her keen appreciation and practice of art in its visual, literary, music and performing forms to be her lifelong art mentor and inspiration. She is fascinated by natural light, its unpredictable movement in the Aether and is passionate about expressing its interplay in seemingly-empty spaces of the Aether with her in-the-moment consciousness. Aether –that 'mysterious substance once thought to suffuse the universe' as one dictionary puts it– is still so magnificently alive, pregnant, conscious. Indeed, Aether along with light, are both bountiful medium and matrix of her visual work.

Later, even more deliberately, E Bee does not manipulate nor add filters and strokes, neither digitally nor in the dark room, post-creation. Each image is a tribute and testimony to omnipresence, co-creation and our inter-connectedness.

Practicing this art form is an unending joyful journey of discovery and a veritable meditation practice the rewards of which often reveal astounding breakthroughs behind the proverbial veil – and beyond the conventions of traditional photography. Ultimately, E Bee invites the viewer to experience through her work a unique glimpse into the fullness of All That Is; to discover and share a new perspective not only about the very nature of reality but also, equally, to witness the dynamic role our consciousness, observation and intentionality play in its creation – each imagery a tribute and testimony to omnipresence and co-creation of quantum moments. Today, continually seeking to explore and prove more to herself than anyone else deeper, wider creative expressions of her dynamic relationship with the aether and its myriad 'invisible' energetic abundance, E Bee carves out time almost daily to create her visual imagery in liminal space. She stays active with galleries, art buyers as well as online platforms and media, local and international. Her work has been featured in Scottsdale, Virginia, NYC, San Francisco, Oregon, London, Zurich, and Lisbon and continues to receive citations and awards.
