MCM and his story in the arts begins when he was a child. He developed a fascination and interest in drawing figures from comic books, morning cartoons, and famous figures from pop culture. At a very early age Matthew started learning how to draw as it was an escape and outlet for him. He was that kid that did a lot of things on their own so when he first started doing art and developing this skill it was not a problem for him at all staying focus on one particular activity.

When Matthew was seven years of age he was awarded the best art student in his grade and class in elementary school. That is when he knew what he wanted to be when he became an adult. Art was in his DNA. As Matthew grew older into adolescent and adulthood he was curious on the unknown. He wanted to change things in the world. Disclosing things that are injustice and corruption was important.

Art is many things including beauty and love. I think doing art can open minds, change and open up new perspectives and help stir the ship on where our world is heading socially and culturally. What inspires me varies all the time. inspiration can come on any given day. Nature, music, movies, companionship, and love are just some of those things.

“When I make art, I try to think about it as something separate from the normal world - as if art is a world of its own. My goal is to create artwork that is meaningful, powerful, influential, symbolic and will have an impact in the world. I explore humanity through my thoughts, feelings, and emotions subjectively.

I take what I have seen, heard, read about, or experienced and incorporate these elements expressively back into my art. I delve into the realms of the light and dark and everything else in between. My art is disclosing what is already known and also, the Unknown..
