Pilbri Britta Neumärker
Britta Neumärker, known in the art world as Pilbri, is a German painter and photographic artist whose creative path was shaped by a profound shift in her way of seeing the world.
More than two decades ago, a life-changing event altered her vision – both literally and metaphorically – transforming the way she perceives light, space, and form. What might have been a limitation became the catalyst for her artistic voice.
Her early works were steeped in the colors and rhythms of Impressionism and Expressionism, influenced by Monet’s sensitivity to light, Macke’s vibrancy, Kandinsky’s abstraction, and the poetic boldness of the Blue Rider movement. Over time, she began to weave together painting and photography, creating layered works that exist somewhere between the tangible and the imagined.
Guided by the words from The Little Prince – of Saint Exupéry “It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye” – Pilbri has devoted her art to making the invisible visible. She seeks out the hidden currents beneath the surface: the fragile fragments of human souls, the unspoken dialogue between people, the blurred line between reality and the digital world, the silent weight of longing, and the shimmer of hope in the midst of darkness.

She seeks out the hidden currents beneath the surface: the fragile fragments of human souls, the unspoken dialogue between people, the blurred line between reality and the digital world, the silent weight of longing, and the shimmer of hope in the midst of darkness.
Her process is one of layering – pigments upon pigments, image upon image, meaning upon meaning. This layering mirrors the complexity of consciousness itself, where memories, desires, fears, and dreams intertwine. In her paintings, layers of color breathe life into abstraction; in her photographs, textures and transparencies reveal secret dimensions.
Pilbri’s work carries a deep awareness of the times we live in – an age marked by conflict, illness, and environmental crisis – yet she insists on holding onto beauty, compassion, and the quiet defiance of a smile. For her, art and science are not opposites but allies, both capable of expanding human understanding and shaping a better future.
Every series she creates – whether inspired by the raw stones of Stonehenge, the kaleidoscopic geometry of glass, or the fractured visions of “Brain Art” – is an invitation to look closer, feel deeper, and remember that even in the unseen, life is radiant. Her art is not only something to be viewed, but something to be experienced – a meeting place between the visible world and the infinite landscapes of the mind.
Pilbri has received numerous awards for her unique art, including the prestigious Future of Art Global Master Piece Award in 2024
Britta Neumärker, known as Pilbri, is a German painter and photographic artist who has been working in her own studio since 2005. Her artistic journey began with impressionist and expressionist influences, inspired by Monet, Macke, Kandinsky, and the Blue Rider group. Over the years, she developed a distinctive style that merges painting and photography into thematic series. Her guiding principle – “It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye” – Quotation of Saint Exupéry - has shaped her work for more than two decades.
Pilbri explores the unseen: emotional fragments, human vulnerability, and the tension between the real and virtual worlds. Through her layered techniques – in both paint and conceptual meaning – she reveals hidden beauty. Addressing serious themes such as war, illness, and climate change, her work is rooted in the belief that art and science together can make the world a better place.
The artworks concerning the collectors Art Prize are a mixture of paintings and digital photography together.
The digital photography are developed in 2025. they are a combination of a processed photograph and a real photograph. Some contain parts of the paintings, which are also presented here.
The digital photographs of 2025 are dealing with the question how long can our brain distinguish between real and virtual landscapes, if the digital world develops more and more?
Pilbri s creations invite viewers to look beyond the surface – and never lose their smile.
